The title "The Lady With The Hat" was given to Susan Gerrand R.I.(B.C.) over a decade ago by her clients and co-workers. Since 1974, Susan has been licensed as a professional Realtor and working on Central Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands. Within three years of being licensed as a salesperson, Susan obtained her nominee/agent status and two years later she completed two separate diplomas through the University of British Columbia; one in Land Development and the other in Appraisal. Today she proudly displays her R.I.(B.C.) designation. Susan was the youngest licensed Realtor north of Victoria her first year and the first lady Realtor to have her R.I.(B.C.) standing in the Nanaimo area. The Lady With The Hat has received many awards over the years for Top Sales; this goes to show "Its not what’s on your head but what’s under the hat" that counts.

As a Realtor, Susan believes in working with clients and not customers; she explains the difference by saying "a customer is casual but a client is life long". Her motto is building a community. Over the years, Susan has taken a unique approach to accomplishing the goal of getting people moving and resettled. The approach has worked and today the bulk of Susan’s clients are repeat clients and client referrals. Today Susan offer excellent service for both buyers and sellers.

In her personal life, Susan has raised three children. Currently, Susan is part owner of a Gulf Island farm with her children becoming the third generation attached to the Lasqueti Island. She is well known to her neighbours in both the Cedar/Yellowpoint and Lasqueti Island area. Added to the family is Susan’s first grandchild, Grand daughter Mikiko Lucille Seiler, like all Grandma’s she is very proud.
